Staking Guide + Upgrade News
This weeks is all about the Shapella upgrade, yet again! The upgrade will enable GNO staking withdrawals for Gnosis Chain. Shanghai is the name given to the execution layer (EL) upgrade and Capella is the name of the coinciding consensus layer (CL) upgrade. Shapella refers to the combination of both Shanghai and Capella into one name.
If you're a validator on Gnosis Chain, the upgrade requires a number of steps to prepare your nodes. Below you'll find a resource guide and steps for running a Chiado node if you'd like to support the testnet. The Shapella upgrade will take place on Chiado, prior to the Gnosis Chain mainnet, on 24 May 2023 at 12:12:00 UTC, Epoch: 244224. Shapella will be pushed on mainnet in the near future should everything go as planned. Stay tuned for an official date!
