Gnosis Pay

This week Gnosis co-founder Martin Koppelmann announced the launch of Gnosis Pay and the release of the Gnosis Card at EthCC, generating a huge buzz.

Gnosis Pay is the first decentralized payment network allowing web3 developers to integrate with a range of traditional payment schemes including Visa. Gnosis Pay allows users to spend their digital assets anywhere Visa is accepted with the same quick, seamless transactions they expect from a traditional debit card. Gnosis Card is the world’s first officially Visa-certified self-custodied consumer debit card directly connected to an onchain wallet instead of a traditional bank account, built on the Gnosis Pay decentralized payment network.

🚀 Shapella Client Updates

Node runners ~ all client updates are ready. Update your nodes today! The Shapella hard-fork is fast approaching on August 1st, 2023.

👐🏽 Validator Meetup #8

Gnosis Chain core devs joined the Validator Meetup this week. The call focused on all things Shapella - from client updates, setting up withdrawal credentials and commonly asked questions. If you're a node runner, be sure to check out the recording if you missed the call!

🌉 Scheduled Bridge Downtown

With the Shapella hard-fork approaching on August 1st, 2023 we will have scheduled bridge downtime. Both OmniBridge and xDAI bridges will be paused before the fork and will resume operation after the hard-fork is completed. Total estimated downtime is 16 hours.

🔥 Agave + EURe + Gnosis Card

Gnosis Card users can borrow EURe on Agave against any of the applications listed tokens, including $GNO. Agave is a decentralized non-custodial money market protocol where users can participate by borrowing or lending money through the application.

⛰️ Fuji Finance x Gnosis Chain

Fuji Finance  recently integrated Gnosis Chain. With Fuji, you can deposit, borrow, repay, and withdraw a position from any supported chain. In addition, you can optimize your deposit rate and borrow rate. They published an informative Twitter thread this week about $GNO and Fuji. Check it out!

🚀 Friederike Ernst ~ Gnosis Chain: Extending Ethereum

The prevalent paradigm of Ethereum scaling has been the inverted pyramid: Everything ultimately settles on L1. Friederike does some back-of-the-envelope calculations to show that this doesn't provide enough throughput for Ethereum. Check out the full talk below!
