šŸ¦‰Gnosis Weekly Recap ~ 21 November 2025

In July the Gnosis Weekly Recap took a hiatus to regroup and revamp our go-to-market strategy. Gnosis hired a new Head of Marketing and, as you may have noticed, worked on rebranding our identity to bring our product stack into a more cohesive alignment.

The rebrand is also a result of a long-standing discussion brewing at Gnosis. Banks and neobanks are rapidly adopting crypto, and new ā€œonchain neobanksā€ pop up every week. If we don’t compete for mass adoption, incumbents will absorb blockchains as a backend upgrade and keep extractive Web2 business models intact. We believe that self-custody, sovereignty, and user agency must win at consumer scale.

We are not here to rebuild the status quo onchain.

ā€œWe’re building products that millions of people can trust and control. This was never about the tech for its own sake. It’s about giving people real ownership. Power to you, not from you.ā€

Martin Kƶppelmann  Co‑founder, Gnosis

On Monday this week the team announced the official rebrand of Gnosis and the ambitious launch of the Gnosis App while at Devconnect in Buelnos Aires, Argentina.

Gnosis is the home of a more empowering and disruptive future of finance.

We support the builders of what comes after banks: more sovereign and user-empowered financial products. We can provide everything they need, from plug-and-play card infra, compliance tooling, and aggregated on-and off-ramps (Gnosis Pay) to an ecosystem of the world’s stablecoins, low-risk DeFi, and an OG chain (Gnosis Chain).

And we’re using the same suite to launch a consumer finance product that will do for cooperative finance, what neobanks did for TradFi.

This product will be our flagship - simply known as the Gnosis App. And it’s a new type of money app that is based on collective ownership, instead of extractive ownership. Where you earn more rewards because you’re an owner in the stack. All with easy consumer-friendly UX.

If you want to build a new paradigm of financial products, let’s talk.

We’re inviting the curious, the contrarians, and the next generation of digital owners to join a community built on a simple truth: the value you create should accrue to you.

After a decade building trusted products and infrastructure, we’re putting it in people’s hands.

šŸ”„ This Week's Key Updates

šŸŽ™ļø Don’t Miss This: Deep Shah at Devconnect Buenos Aires - Tomorrow!

If you’re in Buenos Aires for Devconnect, set your alarms: tomorrow at 9:30 AM, Deep Shah is taking the stage to break down how to build the next generation of banking the right way.

He’s going deep (pun intended) into the entire ā€œneobankā€ stack on what’s broken, what’s extractive, and how we can rebuild it in a way that actually reflects why web3 exists in the first place. Not just a backend upgrade for Wall Street, but a real shift in power and ownership.

If you’re thinking about consumer finance, UX, growth, or the future of money onchain… this one is absolutely worth your time.

šŸ•¤ 9:30 AM — Tomorrow

Bank on Gnosis.

Devconnect has taken over Buenos Aires and the entire Ethereum ecosystem is at the event. The Gnosis team is on the ground along with the Circles community.

Circles is our long‑running experiment in trust‑based money and the foundation of our new consumer app.

Most apps give you points. We give you a reward currency with real utility and a doorway into a different kind of value network. For many, Circles simply means better rewards. For the curious, it’s an open invitation to explore new ways of creating and using ā€œmoney.ā€

Stay tuned to learn more as we roll out the Gnosis App. Be sure to drop by the Gnosis booth if you're at Devconnect!

šŸŽ¤ Spotlight: Friederike Ernst Lights Up Devconnect Istanbul

On November 18th, Friederike Ernst took the Lightning Stage at Devconnect Istanbul. Her talk, ā€œGM! The Man.ā€ (tagline: ā€œWe’re here to fork you.ā€), was the perfect mix of playful, spicy, and very on‑brand for the week we rolled out our new identity and teased the Gnosis App.

If you’ve been following along, you know why this hit so well. Banks and big tech are racing to wrap crypto in the same old extractive models, and we’re just not here for that. Friederike basically turned that whole idea into a rapid‑fire pep talk about user agency, forking when needed, and keeping crypto weird, open, and actually empowering.

The timing couldn’t have been better. Just as we unveiled the new Gnosis brand and previewed the Gnosis App, a money app built on collective ownership instead of extraction, Friederike delivered the cultural spark to match. Funny, sharp, and very much a reminder of why we’re building what we’re building.

šŸ’„ DevConflict in Buenos Aires

DevConflict was launched last year at Devcon to create a credibly neutral debate forum designed to tackle the biggest unresolved questions in Web3.

This year our second edition unfolded live at Scaling DeFi in Buenos Aires. The debate was titled, 'Adoption vs Ownership: Can We Have Both?' with Friederike Ernst (Gnosis) moderating the discussion and Zachary Williamson (Aztec), DC Builder (World Foundation) joining in.

The discussion dove directly into one of Web3’s most defining questions; how to scale adoption without sacrificing user ownership. The debate format once again delivered exactly what DevConflict was built for: sharp perspectives, honest disagreement, and a shared commitment to moving the ecosystem forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on‑site and online. Stay tuned! More DevConflict sessions are coming.
